Aunt Vito, my mother's sister, was born in 1924 in Bursa, Turkey, to Kadem and Salamon Benardete. Her former name was Victoria.

She had three brothers (Mair, Nisim, Yosef) and four sisters (Roza, Sara, Korin, Inez).

Aunt Vito immigrated to Eretz-Israel on her own when she was about 20 years old.

She married Yosef Shimoni in Eretz-Israel. In 1945, their son Shlomo was born.

Aunt Vito loved to help people.

She widowed in 1987.

Aunt Vito passed away on December 20, 2008, in a nursing home in Bnei Brak, Israel. Her grave is in Holon cemetery.
